Engaging with local residents and our communities and keeping them up-to-date with our proposed plans as they develop is a top priority for Valero, and during the pre-application period we aim to consult widely with key stakeholders and the public above and beyond what is expected in the DNS regulations.
Building on Valero’s existing positive relationship with our local communities, we want to make sure stakeholders are informed about our proposals, obtain feedback from them and address any questions and concerns raised.
This is our Stakeholder Engagement Commitment, which sets out how Valero intends to actively consult with local communities and stakeholders on our CHP project in each phase.
During the course of the proposed project we will be engaging with communities in the vicinity of the project who may be impacted during the construction and operation of the CHP unit. These communities form part of the project’s Consultation Zone, including:

Phase 1 focuses on introducing the overall project to stakeholders and communities.
In Phase 2 we will provide stakeholders and communities with more detailed information on the project.

Engagement with elected representatives at local authority, National Assembly and UK Parliament levels for communities in the Consultation Zone.
A website publicising project information where people can ask questions and make comments.
Phase 3 represents the statutory 6 week consultation period.
